ICELAND AIRLINES, THE NORDICA HOTEL, AND VOLCANO OPEN

PUFFINS OF ICELAND

WESTMAN ISLAND GOLF CLUB
The third oldest golf club in Iceland, founded in l938. Dates could change, check the web, but in July, Westman Golf Club hosts an annual Volcano Open. The history on the Volcano on this island is described below. You will have a unqiue and unforgetable time playing golf in the very beautiful Westman Island Golf Club, and you will feast on local specialties at the end of the tournament. You'll enjoy the midnight sun, meaning that you will play through midnight and witness, undoubtedly a red sky and certainly enough sunlight to play on until wee hours. www.eyjar.is/golf

NORDICA HOTEL
You'll have a "top of the world" feeling looking over the gorgeous city of Reykjavik from this hotel's exclusive executive lounge, l0 story's high. It is Iceland's biggest and best! Icelandair Hotels is the owner, and it is the perfect base for exploring Iceland's pure, natural, and unspoiled scenery. www.icehotels.is.

GRAFARHOLTI GOLF CLUB
The Reykjavik city course will host the 2004 Amstel Light Iceland Open, a tournament that holds the unique distinction of teeing off at midnight. The course is an 18-hole, 6,520 yard track featuring views of the stunning Icelandic landscape and the city of Reykjavik. This hilly course is perennially in great shape.

KEILIR GOLF CLUB
Only a ten minutes drive from Reykjavik, Iceland, right on the ocean is one of Iceland´s most spectacular and unique golf courses, Keilir Golf Club. What makes this course unique is that it is built into a lava field as well as on an old ocean links area. The course offers an 18-hole championship course, par 71, and a 9-hole “practice” course. A beautiful new club house was built in 1993 overlooking the courses and with a view over the Atlantic Ocean across the bay to Snaefellsjokull (Snaefells Glacier where Jules Verne´s “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” took place.

GRIMSEY ISLAND
There are any number of visuals we could have put here that show the nature you will find in Grimsey. It is a short plane ride away (on Flugfelag Air, part of Air Iceland) from Reykjavik, in the northern most area of ICELAND, but you will never forget that you went. Millions of bird congregate here, and be sure to stay up for the "midnight sun" here. Plan several days so that you can really unwind and become a part of nature.

SALMON FISHING
Jack Nicklaus has been seen many times fishing in Iceland and no wonder, it offers the freshest and most exclusive fishing anywhere. You will stay in a deluxe fishing cabin, have a full hearty breakfast and get out there. Combine fishing and golf, and you will have the best vacation ever.

THE BLUE LAGOON
A high-temperature geothermal field filled with therapeutic thermal water rich in minerals and silica clay-- it's the Blue Lagoon, open to bathers to luxuriate in a world where time stands still as body and soul become rejuvenated. Many tourists stop at the Blue Lagoon, either going or coming from the airport as it is on the way into Reykjavik.

THE VIKING HORSE
There's horeseback riding and then there's horse treks in Iceland. The Icelandic horse has a special pace and tolt in addition to the walk, the trot and the canter, and they have that distinctive, loveable mane right on their forehead. Also the horses are sweet and sure; you will love them, and if you wish you can even go for a week's tour with a group. Kids are safe too! The best part is that right in Reykjavik you'll find Ishestar Riding Center, Have Fun. www.ishestar.is

ICELANDAIR
Iceland Air is more than an airline! Iceland Air also is owner and has interest in eight or more hotels throughout Iceland, including the biggest and best The Nordica Hotel; it is also owner of The Blue Lagoon, and Ishestar Riding Center, to name a few. Iceland Air has "Take a Break" flights which allow you to stop for a few days in Iceland on your way from the U.S. to Europe (either going or coming). Take Advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Iceland has been a highlight of all of my travels. www.icelandair.net.
